# What is Same-day ACH?

Same-day ACH

Same-day ACH is the ACH network with extra windows so an item can settle on the same business day if you file before the cutoff. It is still ACH. It still batches. It can still return. It is not RTP and it is not FedNow. Treat it as faster ACH, not an instant rail.

## How does Same-day ACH work?

Your ODFI puts the entry in a same-day window. The operator clears it that day. The receiver can see funds the same business day. Miss the cutoff and you are on the next window or the next day. Weekends and holidays still wait.

## Same-day ACH vs RTP

RTP posts in seconds, every day, and is usually final. Same-day ACH posts in hours, on banking days, and keeps ACH returns. Use same-day when the receiver is not on RTP. Use RTP when you need finality now.

## Does the ledger change?

The path is the same as ACH. The wait is shorter. Do not commit because the product page said “same day.” Commit when the item settles or when you choose to take the return risk.

## How it works with Blnk

Post Same-day ACH like ACH, and tag it. Use `@PayoutUSD_ACH` or `@WorldUSD_ACH` and set `meta_data.same_day: true` so recon can split windows.
